Summer has come and so will your annual travel plans. As important as it is to stay clean on a daily basis, this task can be a bit more complicated when you are on a holiday travelling around. Access to clean water, toilet and food can be a challenge especially if you are on a budget trip. We have got the correct hygiene checklist for you which will enable you to be germ-free on your travels.
Travel Hygiene Essentials
Skin and Hair Products
Carry good sized skin and hair products like soap and shampoo for your travels. As you will be on the go, a good hot shower before you step out and after you come back is a useful idea to feel refreshed and get clean. Sweat and body odour will get accumulated on your skin, therefore, carry an exfoliant along with a moisturiser. Smelling good is key to feeling good about yourself, hence carry a deodorant, perfume and roll on as required. Sun protection for the whole family is essential to avoid skin burns.
It goes without saying that when you are out and about on your holiday, it is very unlikely that you will have access to clean water and toilets. Hence carry a pocket-size hand sanitizer which is handy and will save you from contracting diseases like diarrhoea, cholera or hepatitis. Ideally, hand washing should be practised for a complete hygiene solution but in an event of lack of clean water then do carry your hand sanitizer.
Carrying your toothpaste and brush will come naturally to you. However many forget to carry their mouthwash. When you are travelling you tend to have irregular meals at odd times of the day or start eating more junk food. This causes halitosis which is known as bad breath. Many travellers neglect their oral hygiene habits while flying. This works together with the above reasons for bad breath while travelling and makes your breath smell worse the longer you’re in the air. Therefore carry your oral essentials in flight especially if it is a long haul flight.
Simple First Aid Kit
When travelling with young ones or even alone for a matter of fact, carrying a basic first aid kit is advisable. Infections from a wound are very common if not cleaned with a disinfectant. Hence always carry a small size disinfectant, cotton and bandages. Moreover, you could also carry medicines for some pre-existing conditions like heartburn, diarrhoea and constipation.
‘Look good, Feel good’ is a true cliché. Choosing the right clothes for the trip is a stepping stone for a successful trip. Choose your clothes very carefully depending on the time of year you will travel to a specific location. Wrinkle-free clothes are a good option as they take up less space and weight. They dry very quickly especially when you will on your toes most of your travels. Sweat build up on your clothes need to be aired out otherwise bacteria builds up on the clothes. Therefore, be comfortable in what you are wearing but with smartness.
You are fully equipped for a successful germ-free holiday this summer. Make the most of it and don’t forget to make some amazing memories!
